Financial Disclosure Overview
Transparency is a cornerstone of my campaign. This page provides an overview of the financial disclosures that my campaign files as required by law, ensuring that all campaign-related financial activities are fully transparent and available for public review.
Overview
As a candidate for Miami Shores Village Council, my campaign complies with comprehensive disclosure requirements set by Miami Shores Village, Miami-Dade County, the State of Florida, and federal election regulations. These disclosures cover contributions received, expenditures made, loans secured, fund transfers, and in-kind contributions. By adhering to these regulations, my campaign maintains accountability and builds trust with the community.
Required Disclosures
My campaign files the following financial disclosure forms to ensure compliance with all applicable laws:
- Form DS-DE 9 – Campaign Treasurer's Report: This form is filed with the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections and includes detailed information about contributions, expenditures, loans, and in-kind contributions. It is required under Chapter 106, Florida Statutes.
- Form DS-DE 84 – Statement of Candidate: Filed with the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections, this form certifies that I have appointed a campaign treasurer and designated a campaign depository, as required by Florida law.
- Miami Shores Village Financial Disclosure Form: In addition to county and state requirements, Miami Shores Village requires candidates to file a local financial disclosure form, which includes information about personal financial interests and campaign finances.
- Federal Election Commission (FEC) Form 1 – Statement of Organization: While federal election regulations primarily apply to federal campaigns, my campaign adheres to the principles of transparency outlined by the FEC, ensuring that all financial activities are documented and publicly accessible.
Reporting Deadlines & Procedures
My campaign files these disclosures on a strict schedule as mandated by law:
- Monthly Reports: Filed with the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections, these reports detail all contributions and expenditures during each reporting period, as required by Chapter 106, Florida Statutes.
- Pre-Election Reports: Additional weekly or daily updates are filed as elections approach to provide timely disclosure. These reports are submitted to both the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections and Miami Shores Village.
- Late Filing Penalties: Any delay in filing reports results in fines as prescribed by law, reinforcing our commitment to punctual transparency.
